-- sorry, English only --

Hi all,

I was browsing Flickr and stumbled into this car (which is located in Christianshavn, Copenhagen):
Billede

Which really looks like mine:

Is the owner on this forum?

Best regards,
Ilir

I haven't seen that two-color 96 before, but it sure looks nice :-)

Speedy, do you know that car :?:

Since we have an English forum we might as well use it, so I've moved this thread.

Hi Ilir

I was actually visitting Christianshavn 2 weeks ago and also noticed the car. I normally spot a saab 96 miles away, by sound, smell or simply by instinct :)

Billede

I've checked our memberlist but the registration number is not in our lists in the club. But I will drive by the car again within short time and leave a note in the window to the owner with my contact details. Then we could perhaps get in contact with a new saab enthusiast.

Nice car you got....where do you live and come from?

Best regards, Anders

That is so really cool to see a car like mine. Thanks for the replies!
I live in Utrecht, the Netherlands. Picked up my 96 in October last year in Goteborg, Sweden.

Would be nice to get in touch with the second two-tone silver-black 96 owner. Maybe there are more in the world?
Will keep checking the forum now and then!

For more pics on my 96, see my signature!

Your car looks to be i really good shape. You say it's an anniversary model. Could it be an original "Silver" which have had the black painted on later?

I would say that the Danish car is more Dark Blue than black, a lot like this one http://www.saabregister.org/garage_vehi ... le&CID=100 which I own ;)
The colors are in SAAB thermonology Slate blue metallic and silver metallic but difficult to see on these pictures. Unfortunately i don't have any better photos as the car is in working progress.

Indeed, it's more blue than black.

The top colour of my car is indeed the original silver, the black is painted on (not with an airbrush, but with a brush by one of the previous owners). Mechanically it's in pretty good shape, but the body needs some tlc: mostly superficial rust, some dents, etc. But really fun to drive =)

How long have you been restoring your car? Looks really nice (although I'm not the biggest Saab fanatic, I like the older ones :) )

Too long I'm afraid, 5 years or something like that. I'm no professional mechanic, but I want it to be perfect + some tewaks, but at this point I think I have to be realistic and just get it running.
I like both the older and the newer SAABs. I also have a '75 V4 The 900 is also very fun to drive, especially with turbo. It handles almost as good as the V4's.

Hi again

Yes, I will try to get in contact with the owner. As far as I can see, the model must be a 1967 two toned V4 (small sidemirrors, small windows and the old front with the orange sidemarkers. The rubber fenders on the bumber must me a replacement for the original ones in crome. So allmost same front as my own car.

Hi Anders,

Would be nice to get in contact with the owner.
And as I posted this topic on the Dutch saabforum someone told me there is a third one with the same colours (about 10 years ago in Belgium, might not be running anymore):
