Where do I get one of these number plates:


I have a bike rack that obscures my rear number plate and I also need one when towing a Dutch trailer in The Netherlands (trailers <750kg don't have their own number plates in NL). And... what are they called in Danish?

There is no real name for them. They're usually just called like you say bike rack numberplates or extra numberplates or red text numberplates.
You get them at SKAT or the motor office (motorkontoret) where you also get normal numberplates.
You order the plate (bring the cars registration papers) and pay for it. The price is much lower than for regular numberplates for some reason.
Then they will be made for you and you can pick them up some weeks later. I've never tried it but it's pretty straightforward.

They can even send them by mail, very handy. But you need to have a Dankort for payment. Well, well, let's go and wait at the Motorkontor again....
